How SoundByte-Labs licensing works
SoundByte-Labs uses a perpetual, machine-tied license model. When you purchase an app, you receive a serial key that activates on your specific hardware. This ensures each license is tied to the person who purchased it.
Your license never expires. The app works forever on the machines it's activated on, even if you don't renew updates.
Each serial key activates on up to 2 machines (e.g., your studio rig and laptop). This is based on hardware fingerprinting — no dongles.
Your purchase includes 1 year of free updates. After that, you can optionally renew for continued updates at a reduced rate.
Each unique Mac is identified by its Hardware UUID. If you replace your computer's logic board or migrate to a new machine, you'll need to deactivate the old machine and reactivate on the new one.
No. Serial keys are licensed to individuals and tied to specific hardware. Sharing or redistributing serial keys is a violation of the license agreement.
You'll need to deactivate one of your existing machines before activating a new one. You can do this through the app's preferences or by contacting support.
We offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you're not satisfied. Contact support@soundbyteinc.com with your order ID.
